Trivia

The series "Paradoks" is a crime drama that debuted in 2012 and generated excitement from the very beginning. It captivated viewers with its dark atmosphere and strong cast. Although the series only ran for one season, it is still remembered as a title with the potential for a much longer run.

The series' origins and its premise

The project's realism

The series "Paradoks" was created as a 13-episode crime drama broadcast on TVP. The creators focused on closed cases in each episode, but with a distinct personal storyline for the main character. The goal was to create a realistic story about the work of a police team. Many scenes were shot in authentic urban spaces. The stark stairwells, apartment buildings, and deserted streets created an atmosphere of unease. From the outset, the series was intended to be more subdued than dynamic.

Behind-the-Scenes Facts

Bogusław Linda as the Commissioner

The biggest draw of the series was Bogusław Linda's participation. The actor returned to a police role after years away from cult action films. Interestingly, Linda had a real influence on the final shape of his character. In interviews, he emphasized that he was focused on believability and avoiding exaggeration. This allows the character to be more than one-dimensional.

Demanding Set

A significant portion of the scenes were filmed at night. The creators wanted to achieve the harsh, chilly atmosphere of the city. The crew worked in challenging weather conditions. Low temperatures were felt, especially during long outdoor shoots. Additionally, some chase scenes were filmed with traffic partially stopped. This required close collaboration with city authorities.

A Character-Filled Ensemble

Alongside Linda, the series featured Anna Grycewicz and Paweł Królikowski, among others. Each of these characters brought a different energy to the story. The cast was one of the production's strongest points. Experienced actors give characters credibility and create strong, relatable relationships.
